BAMA 2nd National Convention concludes with Call for Standing Together

Bhutanese American Magar Association (BAMA) concluded at St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, September 16, 2017 mainly focusing on election, welfare of the association and unification.

The two days convention was inaugurated with holy prayers from Wapas “spiritual lamas” and lighting candle by Chandra Maya Magar, one of the oldest members of the community and Vice-Chair Sarman Samal formally welcomed all the distinguished gust and participants in his welcome speech.

It is known from their Press Release that they agree to reshuffle existing BAMA central committee and nominated Bhim Purbachane from Iowa, Bimal Yongpang from North Dakota and Buddhiman Magar from Nebraska in central committee. It is also mention in their Press Release that all updates of BAMA was present by Talman Pithakotey, the President of the Association. Ganga Ale representative of Illinois stated – “All Magar need to stand together irrespective of their religious belief in time of need.”

Manita Sinjali, the winner of MDC season II along with different artist from host community and from different states performed the energetic, spunky and vibrant dancing numbers and Bhutanese famous singer Shiva Mapchan, Pratap Magar and others highlighted the cultural show on the day.

Besides this, the BAMA honored Manita Sinjali with recognition letter and a token of love in recognition of winning Mero Dance Cup USA 2017, Season 2. Along with her, cultural participants and volunteers are also recognized with appreciation letter. Mentioned Press Release.
