GBLO in New Zealand

Recently, on Dec. 12 2015 Global Bhutanese Literary Organization is being added with a new dimension forming a country chapter in New Zealand. Grand program was organized to declare the chapter under the chairmanship of Gopal Poudel where Sudarshan Adhikari, the president of Bhutanese Community in New Zealand was the chief guest. Intellectuals and senior members of the community, few to name T.B Rai, K.B Rai and Chatra Sapkota were also there as an especial guest.nz1

Dewan Tamang (Bhutanese Community New Zealand, Treasurer) delivered Welcome speech. Deepankar Rai, Susma Karki, Arpan Rai, consecutively sang song. Munu Karki recited the poem and sang song too. “Program was really informative, entertaining and all attendees were enthusiastic” Mr. Bidur Poudel, GBLO center member and anchor of the day said in our telephone query. Responding to our telephone query Mr. Gopal Poudel said “Ultimately we became successful forming GBLO New Zealand Chapter. Best thing is that we got inspiring, cooperative and dedicated friends to run our newly formed Chapter Organization”.

Following are the candidates who were elected as the executive body:

  1. Gopal Poudel – General Secretary
  2. Devan rai – Co-coordinator
  3. Balaram Sentury (Thoas) – Vice Coordinator
  4. Bidur Poudel – Speaker
  5. Munu Karki – Treasurer
  6. Dewan Tamang – Advisor

Devan Rai, new elected Coordinator of GBLO New Zealand and General Secretary of BCN announced the music class for the young generation. After vote of thanks from Arvin Rai (Vice president of BCN), Gopal Poudel the Chairperson concluded the program.

Global Bhutanese Literary Organization (GBLO) which was formally established in 2009 in small hut of the Refugee Camp back in Nepal. Now, it has emerged worldwide with its Central Secretariat in USA. GBLO’s main object is to promote and preserve art, culture, literature and help the people at disadvantage.
