The Fourth Inter States Bhutanese Annual Soccer Tournament 2014 hosted by Bhutanese-American Youths of Erie Pennsylvania has been successfully ended on June 22, 2014 in the city of Erie Pennsylvania. The independent Bhutanese youths’ voluntary organizations in the United States are organizing the Inter States Annual Soccer events including the youth sports conferences since 2011 in different states which was initiated from Atlanta Georgia. In the series of annual national soccer event hosting history, California was second and Texas was third after first tournament hosted by the state of Georgia. The Erie Pennsylvania is the Fourth host of the Inter States Bhutanese Annual Soccer Tournament. It was started on June 19, 2014 with a conference held with the leaders and players from different participating states.

According to the state event host organizers, from the 40 Bhutanese American Soccer teams participated from 23 different states, the Bhutanese soccer team from the state of Georgia beat the Championship of the year. In our calculation, every day about 800 people were served cooked food on June 19, 20, 21, & 22, 2014 by the organizers; among them 760 were participating players from 39 different cities of the United States.

On the first day of the grand event as previous year, the organizers of Erie also had arranged a conference in the East High School of Erie, 1001 Atkins Street, Erie PA. On the conference, the Bhutanese American Soccer Organizing Committee got some more additional members for the continuation of the annual event. The organizing committee shared the tournament information to the players and the team managers in the conference. The tournament T-shirts were distributed to the participating team managers. The event organizer, Bhutanese-American Youths of Erie, PA was supported by Himalayan Mart, Multicultural Resource Center, and the Cross Road Baptist Church as voluntary sponsors for the event.

There was cash prize for the winner championship and the first runner team. The Bhutanese team of Atlanta Georgia won the Championship beating Bhutanese team of Columbus Ohio with 4-1 in the final match on June 22, 2014 and got $ 2001.00 as cash prize with Championship trophy. The runner cup was won by Columbus Ohio with $ 1501.00 cash prize. All the players of the first and second positions’ teams were awarded trophies and medals of the tournament.

The Man of the Tournament was awarded to the highest scorer, Dilli Bhattari who scored 11 goals in 6 matches. The award of the Man of the Match for final tournament was awarded to Lokendra Khadka, and the Award of the Best team was awarded to the Bhutanese team of Cincinnati Ohio. Mr. Paul Geri, the director of Multicultural Resource Center was the Chief Guest of the final event, and the event was witnessed and enjoyed by about 2000 spectators.

On June 20, 28 matches were played in 4 different soccer fields in different time as announced in the schedule. On June 21, 12 matches were played including quarters, and semi-finals. The final match of the tournament was played on June 22, 2014 in the Veteran Stadium of Erie Pennsylvania.

According to the hosting organizers of Erie, PA and the Inter States Bhutanese Annual Soccer Tournament organizing committee, the Fifth Inter States Bhutanese Annual Soccer Tournament will be held in Tennessee in 2015. The organizers from Erie, Pennsylvania reported that there was total expenditure of $ 32,000 for the entire event. From the event view point, the tournament remained successful for the year of 2014.
