Dear Everyone,

Suicide is a major issue in the Bhutanese community. As such we are writing to inform you about the Stop Suicide Project being conducted by a group of Bhutanese artists. Through the medium of music, we seek to encourage dialogue in the Bhutanese community about mental health issues. For the same purpose, we have collaboratively written the song “Stop Suicide” and filmed a music video.

In collaboration with the Druk Fusion Band, Menuka Memorial Foundation, Rhythm Screen Creation, and the International Institute of Akron, we are organizing an event to release the video on Saturday, February 28, 22015 at 2:00 P.M. The Venue will be North High School which is located at 985 Gorge Boulevard, Akron, OH 44310.

In addition to releasing the video, we will have professional speakers who will be talking about mental health issues and other entertainments performed by popular Bhutanese artists. The objective of the video and this event is to open up dialogue among the Bhutanese community about mental health issues.

Our hope is that talking about mental illness will encourage treatment and prevention of suicide. I hope you will be able to attend this event. Your presence will emphasize the importance and impact of this issue on the Bhutanese community and help us realize our goal of raising awareness about suicide prevention.
