Helping people is Godly Act and one of the best way to help is through donation. Yes, Miss Bhutan US 2016 , Bimla Siwakoti did walk in this nobility path by donating 3 lakhs 59 thousands to Caritas Nepal on Aug. 9, 2017.
With the help of Himalayan Festival, Miss Bhutan USA, her friend Prakriti, friends and family, she was able to rise the fund for this great cause.
Caritas Nepal will be using this amount to supplement the expenses to secondary education of S.L.C. passed out Bhutanese refugee students. Basically, this donated fund will be distributed among class XI student to pay their college fee and buy some books.
Millions of people across the globe have been forced to flee their homes due to violent conflict. Among them are the Bhutanese refugees. As the durable solution, most of them now are resettled in third countries. However, around 12 thousand refugees are still in refugee camps in Nepal. There, the children are slowly getting deprived of education due to scarcity of funding for education. In this context, the amount of 3 lakhs 59 thousand matters a lot.
